Gary O&#39;Shea and Red Action libelled and defamed those who fell out with them politically. They threatened physically political opponents in AFA, their Independent Working Class Association ended up with Council seats in Leys Oxford, but they became totally workerist. Being working class, in and of itself, was deemed enough so they ended up as just yet another community type politics. They therefore became very bad on things like asylum seekers and their first councillor in Oxford supported the Iraq War! <br /> <br />I have done a review of the book &#39;no retreat&#39; by Dave Hann and Steve Tilzey on the founding of the Northern AFA Stewards Network and the battles they engaged in. When Dave left AFA he was villified and despite being acquitted of assault they say he mugged someone because he was gay. I interviewed him for a book he was writing a month before his death from cancer and I&#39;m friends with his partner, Louise Purbrick, who found all this shit extremely hurtful.
